[Translate to English:] Eine Biogasanlage mit zwei Behältern im Service von MT Energy.

Innovative biogas plants make an important contribution to the energy transition because they reliably supply electricity even when the sun and wind are not available. They also provide climate-friendly and cost-effective heat to surrounding consumers.

As a service provider for biogas plants, we contribute to an economical and sustainable energy supply. With professional service ranging from regular maintenance to repairs in the event of damage, comprehensive process biology support, intelligent control and automation, and modern, energy-saving components, we help biogas plant operators to run their plants efficiently, safely and flexibly. Tailored to the requirements of the energy transition and the market.

Biomass package New perspectives for biogas!

The biomass package adopted by the German government at the end of January 2025 has set a decisive course for biogas as part of the energy transition. The path for biogas plant operators after the first remuneration period of the EEG is clearly outlined.

Electrical service

MT Energy Service's electrical services cover all electronics and electrical components of a BGA. We are here for you – whether you need to connect agitators, pumps, sensors or switch cabinets, or have cabling laid and checked.

We create circuit diagrams and the function matrix and carry out all prescribed recurring tests in accordance with DGUV-V3 for you. We document this in a comprehensive acceptance report in accordance with official requirements. We also deal with any objections during the acceptance of your system quickly and document this for the supervisory authorities.

Control technology

Programming, software and visualisation. IT and telecommunications technology.

Optimal control of a biogas plant has a significant impact on its economic success. With the MT Energy Service control system, you can monitor and control your biogas plant down to the last detail.

In order to meet the increasing demands of the market, we are constantly developing our in-house control system for you. The V4 control system, which is used in industrial and foreign plants, grew out of the basic idea of the MT Energy V3 control system. The solid V3 functionalities have been structurally optimised to ensure a high degree of flexibility.

In addition, we support you with

  • modernising and upgrading your plant computers with the latest operating systems (Windows 11)
  • troubleshooting and installing routers and alarm devices

Intelligent add-on modules for your existing system:
visualisation, log centre and fault reporting centre.

  • Reduction of peak loads
  • Easy remote maintenance via PC and smartphone
  • Specification of weekly schedules for your direct marketer
  • Minimise the risk of control system failures

Container refurbishment

Substrates and biogas put strain on the containers in your biogas plant every day. Depending on the extent of the damage, it may be necessary to renew the coating or carry out comprehensive concrete renovation after several years.

When concrete wears out:
We restore your plant to top condition.

  • Planning and execution: Renovation by trained specialists and coordination of specialist companies, e.g. for wall edge renovation.
  • Modernisation of the substructure: Renewal of the beam layer or conversion to a tension belt substructure for improved load-bearing capacity.
  • Renewal of other components such as agitator technology, container wall heating or enlargement of the gas storage volume by adjusting the air foil cover.

Container refurbishment not only serves to maintain the value and optimise your plant, but also ensures reliable plant operation!

Inflatable air dome

Double-shell air curtain covers consist of an outer weather protection film and an inner gas storage film. Depending on the specific load on the system and weather conditions, it may be necessary to replace the air curtain film cover. When replacing the film, we only use TRAS-compliant air-supported films, which enable you to easily comply with the requirements of TRAS 120 (Technical Rule for Occupational Safety).

TRAS120 compliant:
System solutions for film replacement and gas storage.

  • Flexible gas storage films and dimensionally stable weather protection films for open round containers and special film clamping rails
  • Replacement of the rail system with MT's Power Grip rail with additional mechanical safety device
  • Customised film cuts, e.g. for height restrictions due to approval requirements
  • Overpressure/underpressure protection, tailored to the respective container size
  • Gas level monitoring with visual and sensory display
  • Support air blowers in various versions, including redundant design

Pump and agitator technology

Substrate pumps and agitators in biogas plants must run reliably and are subject to natural wear and tear. We support you with the maintenance and repair of your pumps and agitators, including a reliable supply of spare parts. We also support you with the replacement or retrofitting of your existing technology – from consulting and professional installation to integration into the electrical engineering system.

Gas detection

Plant safety and environmental protection require biogas plants to be gas-tight. However, detecting gas leaks is also worthwhile from an economic point of view. With a mobile measuring unit, the GasCam SG, we can locate biogas leaks reliably and at an early stage.

  • Increased plant safety
  • Higher gas yields
  • Comprehensive test reports
  • Documentation as part of the recurring inspection in accordance with § 16 BetrSchV

Safe operation begins with the right test

Pressure tests are a key component in the safe and legally compliant operation of biogas plants. They help to detect leaks at an early stage, prevent damage and meet legal requirements. As an experienced biogas service partner, we carry out the prescribed tests on substrate, leachate and gas pipes professionally.

Pressure testing of substrate and leachate pipes

These pipes are subject to the requirements of the German Industrial Safety Regulation (BetrSichV) and the AwSV (Ordinance on Installations for Handling Substances Hazardous to Water). A pressure test is required:

  • Before initial commissioning of the plant
  • After repairs before recommissioning
  • Recurring, in accordance with legal requirements:
  • Every 5 years for single-walled pipes without leak detection
  • Every 10 years for double-walled pipes

Pressure testing of gas pipes

Gas pipes must be checked regularly for leaks in accordance with TRAS 120, the Hazardous Substances Ordinance (GefStoffV) and BetrSichV:

  • Before initial commissioning
  • After repairs or extensions
  • Recurring every 12 years if permanently technically leak-proof system components are used

Requirements and common challenges

To ensure that we can carry out the pressure test efficiently, we check the local conditions in advance:

  • Is a 1" female thread connection available or does it need to be retrofitted?
  • Are shut-off valves at both ends of the pipe available and in working order?
  • Is the connection point safely accessible, clean and supplied with sufficient water (for substrate pipes)?

Typical problems arise, for example, due to leaky or missing shut-off valves or missing connection options – especially in confined spaces such as under pump distributors.
